　　来自全世界45个国家的200名留学新生齐聚一堂，共同开启在我校留学生活的新篇章。校长钟晓敏、副校长黄建新以及国际学院、国际交流合作处、学生处、教务处、研究生院、工商管理学院、经济学院等相关部门负责人、教师代表出席开学典礼。下面是留学生校长开学典礼讲话的部分内容。　　Honorable guests, parents, teachers, our dear freshmen:　　大家晚上好！　　Good evening!　　今天，我们同时在安吉校区、小和山校区隆重举行2019级新生开学典礼。首先，我谨代表学校党委行政和全体师生员工，向来自祖国大江南北的3653名本科生、351名硕士研究生、来自全球各地的400多名留学生新同学表示最热烈的欢迎！向王博、陶立波、Michelle（米歇尔）等各类新生奖学金获得者表示热烈的祝贺！向精心培育你们成长的家长和老师表示诚挚的感谢！向长期关心支持学校发展的上级领导、安吉县委县政府、全球合作高校和社会各界表示衷心的感谢！　　Today, the Opening Ceremony for Students of 2019 is formally held on Anji and Xiaoheshan campuses simultaneously. First of all, on behalf of ZUST party committee and administration as well as all our staff, I would like to extend the warmest welcome to 3653 freshmen and 351 new postgraduates from all over the country, and more than 400 international students from all over the world. Congratulations to those Freshman Scholarship winners such as Bo Wang, Libo Tao and Michelle. Sincere thanks also go to your parents and previous teachers who have nurtured you. Moreover, I also wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to our supportive leaders, Anji county Party committee and government, our cooperation universities worldwide and various social circles.　　同学们，就在前天，你们圆满完成了军训任务，经历了一次大学的洗礼。军训汇演上，同学们英姿飒爽，威武刚健，气宇轩昂，表现出了新一代大学生良好的素质。今年，我校有40多名同学光荣退伍，返校继续学业；又有一批新同学光荣入伍，奔赴军旅，他（她）们中有的加入了陆军、海军、空军，有的加入了火箭军、战略支援部队，其中1名同学光荣加入了中国人民解放军驻香港部队。祝贺你们！感谢你们！学校以你们为荣！　　Dear students, having completed your military training successfully the day before yesterday, you experienced the baptism of university. During the military training reporting performance, you were bright and brave, vigorous and robust, really impressive, which shows the good quality of the new generation of college students. In 2019, over 40 students from ZUST retired from military service and returned to our university; another group of new students joined up with pride. Some of them joined the army, navy and air forces; some joined the Rocket Army and Strategic Support Force; one student even joined the People’s Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison. Congratulations to you! Thank you! We are proud of you!　　浙江科技学院是在中国改革开放大潮中建设和发展起来的新型高校。通过多年的探索和实践，学校逐步形成了集浙大血脉、德国学脉、浙江地脉于一身的独特办学气质。学校发端于浙大，传承了浙江大学“求是”精神，形成了“崇德、尚用、求真、创新”的校训和校风学风。学校发展于中德合作，有着30多年的中德合作办学历史，是教育部确定的中德合作培养高等应用型人才试点院校，一直致力于建设一所“德国模式、中国特色”的现代应用型大学。学校是中国应用型大学的开创者，是教育部确定的首批“卓越工程师教育培养计划”实施高校，是国家“‘十三五’教育现代化推进工程---产教融合发展工程”建设高校。长期以来，学校立足浙江，紧密服务浙江经济与社会发展，学科专业设置与浙江省“十三五”重点打造的八大万亿产业紧密衔接，毕业生初次就业率及薪资水平位居浙江省高校前列，曾被教育部评为“全国毕业生就业典型经验高校”50强。经过近40年的建设与发展，学校已成为浙江省高水平应用型、国际化人才培养的重要基地，在中国应用型大学建设和发展中发挥了示范和引领作用，国际化办学水平位居浙江高校前列。当前，学校正按照第四次党代会描绘的宏伟蓝图，强化应用型办学，彰显国际化特色，朝着高水平建设特色鲜明的社会主义浙江科技大学方向奋勇前进。　　Zhejiang University of Science & Technology is a new-type university developing in the tide of China’s reform and opening-up. After years of exploration and practice, ZUST has gradually formed its unique university-running character with the bloodline of Zhejiang University, the historical origins with Germany and the particular geographic position in Zhejiang province. Originated from Zhejiang University, ZUST has inherited its “seeking-truth” spirit, and shaped the university motto of “Virtue and Truth, Creativity and Practicality”. ZUST thrives during its cooperation with German universities. With a history of over 30 years of cooperative education, ZUST has been designated by the Ministry of Education as a pilot institution in Chinese-German cooperation in application-oriented talent cultivation, aiming to be a modern application-oriented university with “German model and Chinese characteristics”. As a pioneer of applied universities in China, it is one of the first universities to carry out “Excellent Engineers Education and Training Plan” by the Ministry of Education. Moreover, it is also enlisted in the National Planning Programs of “Modern Education Promotion Program—the Development of Education and Industry Fusion during the 13th National Five-year Plan”. For a long time, based on Zhejiang Province, ZUST has served the economic and social development of Zhejiang Province. The discipline and specialty settings are closely linked with the eight trillion industries that Zhejiang Province has focused on during the 13th Five-Year Plan. The initial employment rate and salary rate of its graduates is one of the highest among the provincial universities, gaining ZUST the honor of “Top 50 Model Universities with High Graduate Employment Rate” from the Ministry of Education. After almost 40 years of development, ZUST has become an important base for high-quality application-oriented and internationalized talent training in Zhejiang province, and shown its exemplary and leading role in the construction and development of applied universities in China. Its international education ranks in the top universities in Zhejiang province. No matter whether you are working on your Bachlor’s or Master’s degree, no matter whether you are from nationwide or worldwide, you are already on your way of seeking knowledge. As for students, the meaning of university lies in your whole-hearted devotion to thinking, exploration and practice in humanities and sciences with the instruction of your teachers; it also lies in your preparations for growing up to be people with social responsibilities, the innovative spirit and practical abilities, together with constructors and successors of socialism with all-round development of morality, intelligence and physical fitness.
